Akhil Rabindra, the only Asian to join the Aston Martin Driver Academy and take part in the European GT4 this year, has managed to reach the 'podium' (top three) twice in the first round of the season with his new team Racing Spirit of Lemon.

Akhil and his team-mate Tom Canning have finished third (P3) in the Silver Cup category, completing both the first round races at the Imola circuit. According to a release issued here, Akhil has taken fourth place overall after qualifying for race two.

Akhil has made a great start in the first race with his partner Canning. He has secured the third position after the team of P. Chovet and J Skier were disqualified due to technical reasons. After this, in the second race also, the team of Akhil and Canning has come in third place.
