Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday claimed that his party will come to power by a majority by winning more than 350 seats in the 2022 UP assembly elections. He also said that there have been reports of alleged scam in land purchase cases in Sriram Janmabhoomi Trust, which should be investigated impartially and all members of the trust should resign.

Akhilesh Yadav said in a statement, "There is reported to be a major scam in land purchase cases at Sriram Janmabhoomi Tirthtrust in Ayodhya, a case of multi-crore manipulation is being reported, it should be investigated impartially. All the members of the Trust should resign. Farmers' land in Dharampur village of Ayodhya is being acquired for the airport. Farmers should be compensated at a reasonable rate".

Akhilesh Yadav alleged in the statement that "Discrimination in the society and retaliation towards the opposition have left the BJP government losing its credibility in the eyes of the people and shattering the hopes of good days". He claimed, "The 2022 assembly elections are a few days away from the BJP's departure and the formation of a socialist government and the Samajwadi Party will come to power with a majority with the strength of more than 350 MLAs".
