Lucknow: Samajwadi Party national president and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said in Agra on Sunday that if the SP comes to power in Uttar Pradesh, he will get potato processing units set up. Along with this, Akhilesh also promised to set up a vodka plant to make liquor from potatoes.

Introducing the party's candidate standing together on the stage, Akhilesh Yadav said, 'He is a professor of agriculture. These who are professors of agriculture, make them MLAs. Whether we want to set up a potato processing unit, whether we want to set up a vodka plant, we will do the work of getting them set up. Akhilesh asked the professor candidate, 'Tell me, can vodka be made from potatoes? Can alcohol be made or not? Brother ask them, they are educated, we have forgotten our studies. Pointing to this, the SP candidate agreed to Akhilesh's point.

The SP chief further said that Etmadpur is a part of potato belt, if the BJP government has not done anything for potatoes. He said, 'We will make electricity free for irrigation. 300 units will also be given free domestic electricity. If the SP government is formed, farmers will get sugarcane payment, free irrigation, interest-free loan will be arranged in 15 days.
