Lucknow: On December 30th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Ayodhya's new airport and the revamped railway station, while also flagging off 2 Amrit Bharat and 6 Vande Bharat trains. However, Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav expressed reservations about the visit, stating that it would lead to increased expenses as people from across the country visit Ayodhya.

During a program in Etah, Akhilesh Yadav remarked, "Prime Minister Modi is talking about these Yatras (journeys)… but he did not mention that all these Yatras are going to become expensive now." He pointed out the various Yatras across the country, including the Sabarimala Yatra and the Chaudah Kosi Yatra, expressing concern about the financial burden on individuals coming from different parts of the country.

Akhilesh Yadav questioned whether the cost of items like tea and bricks would rise and highlighted the existing inflation and unemployment challenges. He suggested that such programs might be organized to divert attention from pressing issues like job creation and employment opportunities.

Prime Minister Modi's visit to Ayodhya occurred weeks before the scheduled consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir on January 22nd. During his address, PM Modi urged all 140 crore Indians to light a Shri Ram Jyoti in their homes on the auspicious day. The visit garnered a warm welcome from the people of Ayodhya, with PM Modi also making a surprise visit to the house of Meera Majhi, the tenth-crore beneficiary of the Centre's Ujjwala Yojana.

While the Prime Minister's visit is focused on the forthcoming Ram Mandir consecration, Akhilesh Yadav's remarks underscore concerns about potential financial implications for those participating in the religious events.
