New Delhi: The controversy that erupted after suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma's controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad continues to escalate. At the same time, now the terrorist organization Al Qaeda has threatened to blow up 4 major cities of India through suicide bombings. Following the threat from the terror outfit, the investigating agencies have become alert and have started the investigation. Al-Qaeda has made this threat through a letter.

Al-Qaeda has said in the letter that it will launch fidayeen attacks in Delhi, Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat to fight for the honour of the Prophet. Following this letter, all the states have been apprised of the dangers by intelligence agencies and they have been asked to remain on high alert. The letter issued by al Qaeda said, "A few days ago, the preacher and flag bearer of Hindutva, the hostile feeling of religion and Allah towards the Shariah has insulted and condemned the purest beings. In response to this insult, the hearts of Muslims all over the world are bleeding and their minds are filled with feelings of revenge and vengeance. We warn every mischief in the world, especially the Hindutva terrorists, that we will fight for the dignity of our Prophet. '

Al-Qaeda further threatened four cities with suicide bombings, writing, "Saffron terrorists should now wait for their end in Delhi, Mumbai, UP and Gujarat." They should not take shelter in their homes or in the cantonments of their army. After receiving the threat letter, the central agencies first verified it and then directed all the concerned state police forces to remain on high alert.
