Srinagar: On Saturday, the police arrested a terrorist associated with the proscribed group Al-Badr in Srinagar's Batamaloo area. The arrest was made based on specific intelligence. The apprehended individual, identified as Arfat Yusuf from Rajpora Pulwama, was a hybrid terrorist known for carrying out attacks and then blending back into his routine life.

During the arrest, the police recovered incriminating material from Yusuf's possession, including a pistol, 20 live rounds, and two magazines. Preliminary investigations indicate that Yusuf was involved in terror-related activities in South Kashmir Range and had come to Srinagar with sinister intentions. Fortunately, the security forces managed to arrest him before he could execute any terror attack in the city.

Yusuf's involvement in previous acts of violence was also revealed during the investigation. He was responsible for throwing grenades at a CRPF Vehicle in Rajpora and at the CRPF/RR Camp at Hawal, Rajpora Pulwama. Additionally, he had pasted posters on March 26 and March 10 of this year, advocating a "Lone wolf warrior" ideology. Several terror cases were already registered against him. The authorities have registered a case against Yusuf as the investigation continues.
