Patna: Poisonous liquor has once again wreaked havoc in Bihar. Six persons have died after consuming spurious liquor in Saran. The case pertains to the Phulwaria panchayat under the Maker police station area. Six persons lost their lives after consuming suspected spurious liquor at Sonho Bhatha under Nonia Toli and Bheldi police station area. Not only that, many people's eyesight has gone. In fact, two days ago, on August 2, two persons died after consuming suspected poisonous liquor in the Panapur. In just 3 days, 6 people in Saran have died from poisonous liquor.
More than two dozen people have also complained of loss of eyesight due to drinking the same poisonous liquor. Let us know that on Wednesday, there was a puja at a person's house where some persons had consumed alcohol. Thereafter, some persons consumed spurious liquor on Thursday morning. 18-20 victims of consuming spurious liquor have been sent to PMCH Hospital in Patna for treatment while six victims are undergoing treatment at Chhapra Sadar Hospital. According to the report, the death toll is also expected to rise.
After the death of six persons due to the same poisonous liquor, there is a commotion among the administrative officers. Saran Collector and Superintendent of Police reached Sadar Hospital and met the victims and are to know their movements. All administrative officers, including the Collector and the Superintendent of Police, have also inspected the village of the victims. Three persons, including an elderly man, were killed on Thursday after consuming suspected spurious liquor in Sonho Bhata village of Saran, while nearly two dozen persons lost their eyesight. The deceased also include Chandan Mahato and Kamal Mahato. As soon as the district administration got the information, a team of police and block level officers from nearby police stations including SDO of Madhora, ASP of Sonepur, and Madhora DSP reached the affected village.
