New Delhi: The co-editor of the propaganda website Alt News has received a major setback from the Allahabad High Court. The High Court has rejected the petition of Mohammad Zubair. Let us inform that Mohammad Zubair had made a tweet, in which he had termed three Hindu saints Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati, Bajrang Muni and Anand Swaroop as spreading hatred. On which the FIR was lodged. This was challenged in the High Court.

Actually, Bhagwan Sharan, Sitapur district chief of Hindutva organization Rashtriya Hindu Sher Sena against Zubair had alleged that his religious sentiments were hurt by Mohammad Zubair's tweet. It was alleged that Mohammad Zubair has insulted Hindu religious leaders on his Twitter handle. It was also alleged that hate words have been used against Mahant Bajrang Muni, the National Patron of Rashtriya Hindu Sher Sena. While hearing the court, the court observed that the entire matter is only at a pre-mature stage and the investigation has not proceeded so far except for some preliminary efforts made on the date of registration. The High Court has also said that a perusal of the record of the case prima facie makes the case at present stage and also shows sufficient ground for investigation in the matter. While hearing this petition, a bench of Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Ajay Kumar Srivastava dismissed the petition.

Let us inform that the UP Police had registered a case against Mohammad Zubair under Section 295A of IPC and Section 67 of Information Technology Act 2000. After this, Mohammad Zubair had reached the Allahabad High Court demanding the cancellation of the FIR. It was said in the petition that he did not insult the religious belief of any class, religion in the tweet and the FIR written against him has been registered only for harassment, so it should be quashed.
