Maharashtra's condition is worsening with each day. The uproar of the second wave of COVID-19 is increasing day by day. Looking at the condition Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray appeals to the Prime Minister of the nation to allow youth to receive the vaccine.

CM Thackeray requested PM Modi writing write a letter. The letter read "if a large number of the working population is vaccinated, the intensity of the cases would be lower than the treatment that they need today.” Currently, citizens above 45 years of age are only eligible for covid jab. Maharashtra government has announced revised restrictions to curb the spread of novel virus in the state. The health officials release the data on Monday recording more than 40,000 cases with 47,288 new active cases for infection. The death toll reaches 56,033 in the state. Mumbai continued to be the highest contributor to the daily caseload. 

The state recorded 451,375 active cases. The highest cases are from Pune 81,378 and Mumbai 73,281. Other cities like Nashik and Nagpur also recorded 4,250, 2,647 and 2,556 new Covid-19 cases on Monday. Thackeray as a concern for the youths wrote a letter to Modi requesting additional vaccine doses for six districts facing a surge in the state.
