New Delhi: On Wednesday, Congress president Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination from Amethi, his family bastion where he will be contesting against Union Minister Smriti Irani. Earlier, Gandhi has filed nomination from Wayanad in Kerala, a move that was severely targetted by Irani who said that Gandhi had 'abandoned' Amethi. Gandhi, along with his sister and newly-appointed Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Robert Vadra and Vadra's children- son Raihan and daughter Miraya held a massive roadshow before filing the nomination.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing an election rally in Panaji and in Baramati, Maharashtra - the bastion of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo later during the day. Campaigning is over for 90 Lok Sabha constituencies in 20 states that go to polls on Thursday, April 11. Political leaders will, however, continue to hold rallies in other states which go to polls in the later phases. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public in Gujarat’s Junagadh on Wednesday and accused the Congress of “Tughlaq road election scam” where money meant for poor and pregnant women was looted by Congress leaders.

Here it is to be noted that BJP president Amit Shah is scheduled to hold public rallies in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj and Firozabad on Wednesday. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav will address a rally in Eta Lok Sabha constituency to campaign for his party's candidate Kunwar Devendra Yadav. BSP supremo Mayawati is set to address a rally in Karnataka's Mysuru, while AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi will address his supporters at Solapur in Maharashtra. Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar will address a rally in Katihar, while RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is scheduled to address public rallies in Khagaria, Araria, Madhubani and Vaishali.
