Dominica: In the evening session of the first Test against the West Indies on Wednesday in Dominica, Indian captain Rohit Sharma lost control of his emotions and got hit on the toe by Alzarri Joseph.

It all started when Rohit inside-edged a yorker-length delivery from the West Indian pacer straight on his toe on the second delivery of the ninth over.

The Indian skipper became irate, and as he staggered to the non-striker's end, he uttered a profanity that was audible to everyone.

India finished the current Test in Dominica on 80/0 after dismissing the hosts for 150 in their first innings, seizing control of the match.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja completely destroyed the weak West Indian batting lineup on a surface that had a sharp turn, collecting 8 wickets between them, with the former recording his 33rd five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

The newly coloured starting combination made sure they batted smoothly throughout the whole evening session.

While Rohit was at his usual carefree best, the debutant opener Yashasvi Jaiswal displayed his full range as he cut, pulled, swept, and reverse-swept his way to an unbeaten 73-ball 40. However, Rohit was fortunate to survive a close leg-before-wicket call off Alzarri early in his innings.

India finished at 312 with loss of two wickets. Both the openers scored centuries and posted 229 runs partnership.At the end of day two India lost Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill. Both the wickets were taken by spinners.Rohit scored 103 runs and Shubhman could not add a good total to score board as he was sent to pavilion by warrican before Virat Kohli came to bat.
