"India did not give any information" US spoke on Section 370

WASHINGTON: After the government's decision to revoke Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, there has been a stir from Pakistan to the US. While Pakistan on Wednesday decided to end its commercial and diplomatic relations with India, the US also reacted to the Indian government's decision to remove Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.

The US has said that India had not informed or consulted them before the decision to abolish Section 370.  US refuted claims that India had reported it to the US before removing Section 370. In fact, a media report on Monday claimed that India had briefed the US on its plan on Jammu and Kashmir.

A media report said that National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval had briefed his US counterpart John Bolton about the Central government's plans to abolish the special privileges granted to Jammu and Kashmir in February. However, the US has now refuted all these claims saying that India had not given them any information in this regard.
