The actress is will be next seen in the mythological film Shaakuntalam. She is currently recovering from Myositis, an auto-immune condition that causes muscle pains. The actress resumed work as she started shooting for Raj and DK's Citadel.
The south actress visited the Palani Murugan temple in Tamil Nadu and offered her prayers to prepare for the release of her mythological drama, Shaakuntalam. Amid the recovery she has climbed 600 stairs of the temple, lighting camphor on every step. The Videos and pictures of Samantha offering prayers she opted for a simple yet elegant salwar kameez.
Samantha also took to social media and shared a picture with Rahul Ravindra and Nandu Reddy while she goes through myositis treatment at home. The photograph features Nandu Reddy and Rahul enjoying a heart-to-heart with a shelf full of awards in the background. She further wrote, "Monthly IVIG Party!! New Normal."
The mythological drama is based on Kalidasa's Abhijnana Shakuntalam. The story revolves around an epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant of Mahabharat. This prestigious project has its music composed by Mani Sharma. The ensemble star cast includes Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhu Bala, Gautami and many other notable actors. The filming for Shaakuntalam was wrapped up in August 2021. Allu Arjun's daughter, Allu Arha will also be making her Tollywood debut as prince Bharata in Shaakuntalam. The film will be released in Telugu Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada on February 17, 2023.
