Nadda and Amit Shah to take over BJP's command in Punjab polls, this time 'SAD' will not be there

Chandigarh: Top BJP leaders held a meeting with the party's Punjab unit leaders on Tuesday to brainstorm on next year's assembly elections in Punjab. BJP Chief JP Nadda, senior party leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have met party's Punjab unit chief Ashwini Sharma and party general secretary Tarun Chugh at the party headquarters in Delhi.

Talking to media after the meeting, Ashwini Sharma said that it was a regular meeting. It deliberated on various issues including the assembly elections to be held in Punjab next year. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which has been a long-time ally of the BJP in Punjab, broke up with the BJP last year on the issue of agricultural laws. SAD has now formed an alliance with bsp. Apart from Punjab, top BJP leaders are holding continuous meetings with leaders of states where assembly elections are due.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath had come to Delhi last week and met PM Narendra Modi, JP Nadda and Amit Shah. BJP General Secretary BL Santosh is visiting various states to review the activities of the organisation. PM Modi has also held several meetings with BJP general secretaries and other chiefs.
