NEW DELHI: In the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded to a statement by NCP MP Supriya Sule saying that former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah has neither been detained nor arrested. Farooq Abdullah is at his residence at his own discretion. The Lok Sabha was debating the Jammu and Kashmir reorganisation bill.

Meanwhile, NCP MP Supriya Sule said, "In my adjacent seat, Farooq Abdullah sits and he is elected from Jammu and Kashmir. Their voice is not heard. Responding to this discussion, Home Minister Amit Shah said, "Farooq Abdullah has not been arrested and detained, he is at his own residence at will."

On this, Sule said, "Is he not well?" Earlier, initiating a discussion on the bill, the Home Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. Parliament has every right to make laws on this. Section 370 was amended twice in the Congress regime.
