Raipur: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at Raipur airport on Saturday. Subsequently, Amit Shah inaugurated the NIA office in Raipur. Due to this, he said that this grand building is a symbol of NIA's growing credibility and growing dominance. It has not been long since the NIA was established. NIA has gained recognition of excellent work all over the world in a short span of time.

The Union Home Minister said that the Narendra Modi government made all efforts to strengthen investigative agencies like NIA and anti-terror laws in line with its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. The National Investigation Agency will have branches in all states by May 2024. He said that the Modi government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance against left-wing extremism, terrorism, fake currency and drugs, among other related crimes, and therefore we left no stone unturned to strengthen the NIA.

Shah said the BJP-led central government also strengthened anti-terror laws, shared inputs related to terrorism with state governments, even if a state was ruled by a party, strengthened anti-terror investigative agencies and increased the conviction rate in such crimes. In line with this policy, our government worked towards strengthening the NIA. I am happy that the conviction rate in cases disposed of by NIA has gone up from 75 per cent in 2014 to 94 per cent. The Union minister said the government has tried to make Kashmir terror-free ever since it came to power. He said that peace has been seen in Kashmir since the removal of Article 370 and today our agencies have been successful in curbing terrorist activities there. This was possible because the NIA took strict action against those involved in terror funding in 2018, 2019 and 2020. A total of 105 cases (of terror funding) were registered and 876 persons were arrested and charge sheets were filed in 94 cases.
