New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs is closely monitoring the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) violence case. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has discussed this with Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. According to sources, Shah has asked Baijal to call some representatives of JNU and talk to him. A meeting is going on regarding JNU violence at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's residence. Senior AAP leaders and Delhi government ministers are present in the meeting.

R Meena, warden of JNU Sabarmati Hostel has resigned. Taking action in the case on Monday, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR in the JNU violence case. Delhi Police claims that it has also identified some attackers. There was a lot of uproar in the JNU campus on Sunday evening. Some masked attackers entered the University campus and targeted the students of Sabarmati Hostel. Masked men and face covered women vandalized the hostel room and beat the students badly.

Political rhetoric has also started in this whole matter. BSP supremo Mayawati has termed the incident as shameful. Mayawati wrote in her tweet that, "Violence with students and teachers in JNU is highly condemnable and shameful. The central government should take this incident very seriously.” He also demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident.
