New Delhi: Israeli cybersecurity company Pegasus making headlines in India over phone tapping of Indian journalists, human rights activists, and leaders. Earlier, it was reported that Forbidden Stories and Amnesty International, a non-profit institute in France, found "evidence" of NSO's phone records, which they shared with several media organizations across the world, including India.

Now there is a tremendous U-turn in this 'said.' According to a report by Israeli media outlet Calclist, Amnesty International has now clarified that it never claimed that the list was related to NSO. "Amnesty International has never presented the list as an 'NSO Pegasus Spyware List,' the report said. Some media institutions in the world must have done so. This list is an indicator of the interests of the company's customers. It says, "Amnesty, and the investigative journalists and media outlets with whom they work have made it clear from the very beginning that the list of NSO is in the interests of customers. In a straight sense, it means people who can be like NSO clients and who like to spy.''

According to journalist Kim Jetter, Amnesty is now essentially saying that the list includes people whose NSO clients are usually interested in spying, not people who were spied on. Amnesty says he was extremely clear from the beginning that the list NSO the list was 'not' of the spy target.
