Amruta Khanvilkar's love of dance is well known. The actress is eager to take part in another dance reality show after winning one seven years ago. The Chandramukhi actor explains to us as she prepares to participate in the upcoming season of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, "I've always had the show on my bucket list. I am eager to learn different types of dances. In addition, I am most eager to perform for Madhuri Dixit-Nene, the original Chandramukhi and one of the show's judges."

Pratik Utekar, who choreographed for Amruta and her husband Himanshu Malhotra in Nach Baliye 7, is paired with her. Therefore, working with him is somewhat simple and comfortable. "Both Himanshu and I weren't trained dancers during Nach Baliye 7, but Pratik's strength lies in intriguing concepts. We used to occasionally sit down and prepare our act as a group. I'm excited for this opportunity and know I'll enjoy myself immensely on the show, "says Amruta.

Amruta takes you by surprise when she admits that she is not a trained dancer, despite having previously participated in a few dance reality shows and being well-known for her dancing abilities. She clarifies, "I first experimented with dancing as a young child. I used to dance in the cultural events held in my neighbourhood in Pune. I can only do what I can do right now through observation. I have learned the subtler nuances by imitating my choreographers, whether they are Ganesh Acharya or Ashish Patil. I was only able to improve my dancing because of my passion and diligence."

Amruta freely acknowledges that since the Marathi release of Prasad Oak's Chandramukhi, she has gained more self-assurance as an actor. She reveals, "You rarely get to play a role that gives you enough room to act and also gives you a chance to show off your dancing skills. The making of the movie taught me a lot about who I am. I grew even more assured and committed to acting. It gave me as an artist a lot of opportunities."

Marathi movies have recently stepped up their marketing efforts. Amruta, who was seen extensively promoting her most recent album, claims that this is what the industry needs most right now. "A successful promotional strategy is now essential. We can't limit ourselves to a few posts on social media and trips to the theatre. Getting Marathi audiences into theatres is a challenge. On OTT, there is a tonne of content that is available in many different languages. Therefore, a movie must be worth seeing on a big screen, she explains, adding, "I will do whatever is possible within my power to promote movies. You won't get the desired response to your project unless you shout it from the rooftops. Of course, the competition for desirable movie timeslots follows. On the first day after release, it is customary to examine which shows are beneficial to the movie. Therefore, we must do better in terms of promotions.
