On Saturday, at least one worker died and three others were hospitalized after an ammonia gas leak incident at SPY Agro Industries in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. Kurnool District Collector G. Veerapandian said that today (Saturday) a 50-year-old employee died due to ammonia gas leak inside SPY Agros Company in Nandyal town of Kurnool district.

In his statement, Veerapandian said that there was a gas leak inside the company. He said that it has not spread to the outside, so there is no question of risk. No one has to worry. Veerapandian further said that as soon as the matter was detected, we started an emergency and sent teams to the scene and ensured security measures.

The company is owned by the Nandi group, and the industry is located in Kurnool district on NH 18, 3 km from Nandyal. According to its website SPY Agro Industries Limited is a modern grain-based distillery, which produces 1,50,000 liters of grain. Earlier, there was a gas leak incident in LG Polymer in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. At present, the investigation of this case has started. The Jagan Mohan Reddy government has formed a High Power Committee, which will investigate the accident at the LG polymer plant. The committee will submit its report on 22 June. After this, further action will be taken by the government.
