Visakhapatnam: The controversy over the cost of rapid testing kits for screening of corona infection is deepening. The price of rapid testing kit is being reported in different states. As in the case of Andhra Pradesh, 1 lakh testing kits have been sourced from South Korea, where Rs 700 has been paid for a kit. Whereas in the state of Tamil Nadu adjoining Andhra Pradesh, rapid testing kits have been supplied at a cheaper price. Tamil Nadu has paid 600 rupees for a kit.

On the other hand, the Chhattisgarh government has said that it is asking for testing kits from South Korea at a price of Rs 337 / kit (GST separately). Now the Andhra Pradesh government has called the case of different pricing of testing kits a 'campaign to discredit'. The Andhra Pradesh government has said in a statement that the state has purchased a kit for Rs 700. Right now its total is being calculated.
