Andhra Pradesh opens helplines for students trapped in Ukraine

AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh government has set up helplines for students stranded in Ukraine in Vijayawada and New Delhi. Students and individuals trapped in Ukraine as a result of Russia's aggression would be assisted by the helplines of Andhra Bhavan in Delhi.

In light of the worrying events in Ukraine, the state government said it is taking all necessary steps to assist trapped Telugu citizens through the Andhra Pradesh Non Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS).

Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked senior officials to work with the Ministry of External Affairs to provide the greatest possible assistance to Andhra Pradesh students and professionals stuck in Ukraine.

The Chief Minister further requested that officials keep him updated on the situation and progress in assisting stranded students and professionals. On Wednesday, Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to request the repatriation of Andhra students from the crisis-torn Ukraine.
