Port Blair: Not a single new covid-19 case has been reported in the Andaman and Nicobar in the last 24 hours. The number of infected here is 7,492. A health department official said in this regard on Saturday. Earlier on July 5, no new case of infection was found in the Union Territory. A patient in Andaman and Nicobar was infection-free on Friday, with a total of 7,352 people recovering so far.
In the last 24 hours, no new cases of infection deaths have been reported and the death toll is 128. There are 12 patients undergoing treatment for infection. So far, the administration has tested a total of 4,17,598 samples for covid-19 and the infected rate of samples is 1.79 per cent. Meanwhile, Health Secretary RN Sharma told press persons on Friday that 2,18,848 people have been given covid-19 vaccine doses so far in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, out of which 1,62,321 people have been given the first dose and 56,527 have been given second doses.
According to data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Saturday, 42,766 new cases of corona infection have been registered in the country within the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, the death toll has once again crossed a thousand. 1206 people have lost their lives due to covid during this time.
