Port Blair: The total number of epidemic cases has increased to 7,438 after 13 more people were found infected with the coronavirus in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A health department official said in this regard on Thursday. He said six of the new patients had traveled and seven patients came to light while identifying people exposed to infected people.

He said that no one has died of the infection in the last 24 hours and the death toll remains at 127. With at least 15 people recover from infection during this period, the number of people recovering from the disease has increased to 7,210. There are 101 active cases in the Union Territory. 97 patients are under treatment in South Andaman, the worst affected by the disease. In Andaman and Nicobar, 1,44,816 people have been vaccinated against the covid-19.

Of which 17,608 have taken both doses of vaccines. Information, Publicity, and Tourism Secretary SK Singh said that with more vaccines from the Centre, the vaccination drive has picked up the pace. He also requested the people of the Union Territory to strictly follow the Corona Guidelines.
