USA: The Android version of WhatsApp has received an update that makes it possible to manage contacts directly from the app. The most recent beta releases of WhatsApp for Android that are available for download from the Google Play Store include the new add-on.

Users can add and edit contacts using this feature without ever leaving WhatsApp.

There is already a shortcut in WhatsApp for adding contacts, but it directs users to their device's contacts app. However, some Android beta testers can now directly add new numbers to their contacts list or Google account inside of WhatsApp thanks to the most recent beta update.

People no longer have to switch between apps, and contacts can be added or edited inside the same app.

Activate WhatsApp's contacts list. Now choose "New contact" from the menu. You can add a contact without leaving the app if the feature is enabled for your device. Additionally, you can add a WhatsApp contact who is an unknown number to your contacts list without opening the contacts app. The application also allows users to directly edit their contact information.

Only the Android beta version of WhatsApp currently allows for the addition or modification of contacts. Versions 2.23.8.2 to 2.23.8.6 are designated as compatible. In the upcoming weeks, the new add-on for WhatsApp for Android's stable version is anticipated to be released.
