Mumbai: Home Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Anil Deshmukh has resigned from his post. Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh wrote a letter in the past and accused Anil Deshmukh of targeting to recover Rs 100 crore. Since then, Anil Deshmukh was the target of opposition leaders.
On Monday, when the Bombay High Court approved the demand for a CBI inquiry against him, Anil Deshmukh has relinquished his post. Let us tell you that Parambir Singh had approached the Supreme Court earlier in this case. But he was first asked to petition the High Court by the Supreme Court. After this, Parambir Singh, while filing a petition in the Bombay High Court, demanded a stay on his transfer and a probe against Anil Deshmukh.
After which the Bombay High Court had directed on Monday morning that the CBI should investigate these allegations. The CBI will have to submit an initial report in the next fifteen days, after which it will be decided whether an FIR will be registered against NCP leader Anil Deshmukh or not.
