Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Home Minister and NCP leader Anil Deshmukh has recently responded to the ED summons. Under the information received, he has made it clear in his reply that "he will not be present for ED's interrogation. In fact, Recently Anil Deshmukh has written to the ED and in this letter he has mentioned about the application filed in the court. At the same time, he asked them to wait for the court's verdict. In fact, the ED had summoned him last Saturday and called him for questioning today (July 5).

Former Maharashtra Home Minister and NCP leader Anil Deshmukh has now responded to the ED summons. In his reply, he has said, "The response he had sought from the ED has not been responded to by the ED. They have not been told on what basis action is being taken against them." At the same time, he has cited the disease as the reason for not appearing before the ED. He has said, "He is not keeping well. So, they will not be able to appear directly.''

You know the ED had sent this third summons to Anil Deshmukh on Saturday. In fact, earlier, the ED had sent two summons. However, Anil Deshmukh did not appear before the ED even after both those summons. Every time he referred to illness, age and corona. At the same time, he had requested the ED to be questioned through video conferencing and sought an eight-day grace period. Now that eight-day grace period is coming to an end today.

Last Sunday, Anil Deshmukh's lawyer Indrapal Singh informed that Anil Deshmukh has moved the Supreme Court for protection from the ED action. He said he has filed a petition in the Supreme Court. With this, Anil Deshmukh's lawyers will now seek an early hearing from the Supreme Court today. There are reports that the petition filed by Anil Deshmukh has demanded that the Supreme Court direct the ED not to make any concrete action against him. Anil Deshmukh is scheduled to appear before the ED today itself.
