Anti Corruption Bureau registers a case against DCW chief Swati Maliwal

New Delhi: On Tuesday, a case was filed against the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal, by the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi government, due to a complaint that the panel she heads was indulging in illegal practices.

Maliwal was reserved under Sections 13 (Criminal misconduct by a public servant) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 409 (Criminal breach of trust by public servant) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). DCW was questioned by the ACB on Monday morning for over two hours.

On August 12, the complaint was filed by Delhi Congress leader and former DCW head, Barkha Singh Shukla, after which the operation started.

Shukla, in her complaint alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders were appointing their associates to the DCW and gave them financial benefits.
