KULLU: Inaugurating the La Montessori Model United Nations Conference in Kalehli as part of his tour of Kullu, Anurag Thakur said on Friday that the G20 summit in the country will provide extra-ordinary opportunities to the youth.
The three-day conference includes 300 students from 14 North Indian schools as well as a number of international professors. The studetns also presented several cultural programmes.
Speaking at the occasion, Thakur also interacted with the students. He praised the La Montessori school management for organizing such programs.
"Students will discuss many challenges and come up with solutions at the La Montessori Model United Nations Conference. India has the chance to host the G20. In accordance with this, over 100 meetings are being held with 12,300 participants in 41 cities, 28 states, and union territories.
The Union Sports Minister went on to say, "After the G20, the Y20 Summit will give the nation's youth tremendous chances. There will be nine states where the Y20 Summit's various programmes will be held. The Y20 Summit's programmes are being organised in 30 major cities, and 10,000 people will attend them. The nation has set up a platform for the country's youth to advance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
The Union Minsiter on Friday reached Himahcal Pradesh's Kullu for a one-day visit and he was welcomed by BJP office bearers, workers and administrative officials. He said earlier on Friday that the Himachal Pradesh border is a "strategic location" and that the government is striving to make sure that road amenities to the frontiers of Ladakh are available around-the-clock, every day of the year.
The Himachal Pradesh boundaries are significant from a strategic standpoint, Thakur told reporters. In light of this, road infrastructure is being improved to accommodate the army's 24/7 movement along China's borders. The Atal Tunnel Rohtang was built in a record amount of time thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts.
The world's tallest tunnel is also being built at Shinkula Pass, he said. The Bhanupali-Bilaspur-Leh railway line would enable 365-day accessibility to traffic amenities. The country will benefit from improved road infrastructure from Manali to Leh, Delhi, and Kanyakumari.
