Himachal Cabinet sanction Rs 1500 monthly to women aged 18 to 60-yrs in Spiti valley

SHIMLA:  The cabinet of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has approved the provision of Rs 1,500  per month as part of the Indira Gandhi Mahila Samman Nidhi to all qualified women in the Spiti Valley who are more than 18 years old, a statement issued on Wednesday reads. 

The state Cabinet decided to form a Cabinet Sub Committee to constitute a White Paper on the financial situation of the State. The committee will be chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and will include Ministers of Agriculture Chander Kumar, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj Anirudh Singh as members.

The cabinet also approved the introduction of e-stamping in the State for the collection of stamp duty in order to facilitate business transactions. The printing of actual stamp papers will cease immediately, and stamp dealers will be permitted to serve as authorised collection locations.

It was  also decided to keep using both physical stamp paper and electronic stamp paper from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, and to stop using physical stamp paper entirely on April 1, 2025. The Cabinet resolved to offer all eligible kids Rs 600 in place of school uniforms via direct benefit transfer.

According to the budget release, it has agreed to raise the honorarium of Nambardars in the Revenue Department from Rs. 3,200 to Rs. 3,700 per month, which will help 3,177 Nambardars in the State.
Around 1950 revenue chowkidars or part-time employees will benefit from the Cabinet's approval to raise the honorarium of these workers from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 5500 per month.

In order to make the transfer of land for the construction of solar power and other new and renewable energy projects subject to the relevant terms of the various acts, it was decided to change the Swaran Jayanti Energy Policy, 2021.

The court fee rates for filing any petition or application in the Revenue Courts and seeking for attestation of an affidavit or any other document in Civil Courts other than the High Court were also increased from Rs 6 to Rs 20.
The Atal Tunnel Planning Area, which encompasses revenue villages in the region of Lahaul-Spiti, was established by the Cabinet, and its present land use was frozen.

It authorised the direct hiring of candidates to fill 50 Junior Engineer (Civil) positions and 30 Junior Draughtsman positions in the Public Works Department, as well as 15 Assistant Engineer (Civil) positions and 50 Junior Engineer (Civil) positions in Jal Shakti Vibhag.

The cabient has also decided to hire directly at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College in Paprola, district of Kangra, to fill three open positions for Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies in the Department of Cooperation and four open positions for lecturers in the Ayush Department.
