New Delhi: Indian cricket team fast bowler Mohammed Shami has come under attack from Islamic fundamentalists by greeting the countrymen on Dussehra. Actually, Shami had congratulated the countrymen on Dussehra through social media, but fundamentalists started asking him not to give such greetings while giving him knowledge of Islam. Now Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has come out in support of Shami and has given a befitting reply to the fundamentalists.  

Anurag Thakur said on this matter that Dussehra is a festival that every Indian celebrates. Indian cricketers have also joined the celebration, so if Mohammed Shami celebrates this festival, then what is the problem? Those who are opposing it want to divide the country. We all should unite as a nation and celebrate all festivals together. Mohammed Shami congratulated fans on social media on the occasion of Dussehra on October 5. Mohammed Shami wrote that on the occasion of Dussehra, I pray to Lord Ram to fill your life with happiness and success. Happy Dussehra to you and your family.

But, by congratulating everyone on the Hindu festival, Shami had committed a big crime in the eyes of fundamentalists, so the fundamentalists started giving him knowledge of Islam on social media and started telling him the qualities of being a true Muslim. A Twitter user named Aqeel Bhatti wrote, 'Shame on Shami.' The Twitter handle named Ibn E Ahmed took a dig at Shami's Dussehra greetings and wrote, 'Will not take in the team brother.' Mohammed Shami has not been a part of Team India for a long time, Ahmed has taken a dig at this in his tweet. At the same time, Hasan Manzoor wrote, 'Knowing that there is no God but Allah, how can you say this while being a Muslim?'
