Itanagar: The Indian Army's first reaction to the recent clash with China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Tawang sector in Arunachal Pradesh has come to the fore. Chief of Staff Eastern Command Rana Pratap Kalita said that our army faced the Chinese army very strongly in the Tawang sector of the state. However, some soldiers have suffered minor injuries. Let us know that opposition parties are constantly attacking the government over the Tawang issue and due to this, the proceedings of the ongoing winter session of Parliament are also being disrupted. However, the government has also said that the situation is under control, yet politics continues on the Tawang issue.

Lt Gen Rana Pratap Kalita said, "There is no need for any provocation as we assure that we have full control over our borders and do not pay attention to any false news." He said that the matter has been resolved by holding a flag meeting in Bumrah and the armies of both countries are no longer moving forward in the matter. Now the situation is under our control.'' The Army and the Air Force have been maintaining operational readiness on the LAC in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim region for more than two years following the standoff in eastern Ladakh. Amid tensions with China, the Indian Air Force on Thursday (December 15) began a major exercise in the northeastern region.

Rafale fighter jets were also included in this exercise. Almost all frontline fighter aircraft and other assets deployed in the region were involved in the two-day exercise being carried out on a large scale. Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had told Parliament on Tuesday that Chinese troops had unilaterally tried to change the status quo in the Yangtze area in the Tawang sector on December 9, to which Indian troops responded strongly and chased them away. No Indian soldier was seriously injured in the clash. He said the issue has also been taken up with the Chinese side at the diplomatic level and it has been forbidden to take such action.
