New Delhi: Military Chief General Bipin Rawat has made a big statement about war and technology. He said that weapons and other systems should be developed keeping future wars in mind. The army chief advocated the widespread inclusion of indigenous technology in the armed forces, saying that India would fight and win the next war with indigenously developed weapon systems and equipment. Amid security challenges and concerns, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval also advised laying emphasis on technology for a strong and secure India. He reminded that "we have always been runners-up in terms of technology and there is no reward for the runners-up".

Addressing the two-day 41st DRDO conference, General Rawat, while speaking on future wars, said that "further wars do not necessarily have to be fought face to face. Ajit Doval said that the defence services and intelligence agencies would have to review what are the things that are necessary for us in the present times, which can give us a boost on the enemies".

He said that both technology and money are important in influencing any region of the world. In the event of war, the decision to win a party will also do both. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who was present at the conference as a special guest, while emphasizing aspects of destructive technologies changing the world, said, "India has to emerge in a leadership role in this". At the same time, he also advocated working on the Swadeshi system to make the country completely self-sufficient.
