Arunachal Pradesh reports 348 new COVID-19 cases, 2 more deaths

Itanagar: The number of infected people in the state has gone up to 37,879 after 348 new corona patients were found in Arunachal Pradesh, while the total death toll from Covid-19 has gone up to 181 after the death of two more patients. Dr. Lobsang Jampa, state monitoring officer (SSO), informed that the 28-year-old woman died at a dedicated Covid Hospital (DCH) near Chimpu here on Tuesday and the 70-year-old man from Changlang district succumbed to his injuries at Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh district of neighbouring Assam on Sunday.

The capital complex area has received the highest number of 102 new cases. This was followed by 30 cases in East Siang (30), West Kameng (26), Changlang (23), Upper Subansiri (20), Lohit (19), Papumpare (17), Lower Dibang Valley (14), Anjo (13) and Siang. SSO said new cases have also been registered from Tawang, Lower Subansiri, Namsai, Longding, East Kameng, West Siang, Tirup, Lower Siang, Leprada, Kra Dadi and Shi Yomi districts.

Out of 348 new patients, 306 were diagnosed with rapid antigen testing, 32 from RT-PCR and 10 from the Truenate system, Jampa reported. At the same time, he explained that 162 people had no symptoms of corona. He said that at present 3,173 people are undergoing treatment for infection in Arunachal Pradesh. After 291 patients recovered from Covid-19 on Tuesday, the total number of recoverers has gone up to 34,525, Jampa reported.
