Shimla: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has dissolved its unit in Himachal Pradesh, seems to be starting its poll preparations once again. Party's national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is going to hold a rally in Kangra. At the same time, it is also reported that the party is also in touch with Congress leader Vijay Singh Mankotia. Earlier, Delhi Chief Arvind Kejriwal had held a rally in Mandi. Interestingly, Mandi is considered to be a strong stronghold of the state's CM Jairam Thakur.
Sources have been told in the media report that Mankotia may join AAP during Kejriwal's visit. Mankotia is a strong Rajput leader of Kangra. Along with this, Mankotia is also the state president of the Ex-Servicemen League of Himachal. More than one lakh ex-servicemen are associated with this league. In such a situation, his joining the party can prove beneficial for AAP. It is being said that with the entry of Mankotia, AAP will get a big face in the Kangra district. There are 15 assembly seats here. Along with this, sources have also said that AAP is also in touch with the former MP and Brahmin leader.
Rakesh Chaudhary, who won the Dharamshala by-election in 2019 as an independent candidate, has already joined the AAP. Chaudhary says thousands of people from different parts of Kangra district will join the rally. He said the present BJP government has ignored Kangra district.
