A recent letter has been written to PM Narendra Modi by 49 celebrities concerned over the frequent mob violence in different parts of the country and in response to this, a letter has been written by 62 celebrities supporting the Modi government and in the meantime, a tweet by Singer Asha Bhosle. Asked, "Can I sing this evergreen song, 'Dum Maro Dum, Bolo Subah Sham, Hare Krishna, Hare Ram, Can I Sing This Evergreen Song."

The tweet has been trolled by some users for not being impartial and favouring the Modi government. Recently, when a news channel questioned Asha Bhosle about the same, she said it was a "funny tweet" and that what is going on these days was on it. It doesn't make any sense. She further adds, "Why should I be afraid of it? I am an artist. I'm not afraid."

What 49 celebrities wrote in a letter to the Prime Minister...

Earlier, 49 celebrities from different regions of the country had written an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging that mob violence against Muslims, Dalits and other minorities should be stopped with immediate effect and a law should be enacted. The letter was signed by filmmakers Adoor Gopal Krishnan and Aparna Sen, singer Shubha Mudgal and historian Ramchandra Guha, Anurag Kashyap.
