During this, Nehra also narrated the anecdote when he had only one pair of shoes in the debut test and had to sew it after every innings. Nehra has told that he had only one pair of shoes which he wore in Ranji Trophy matches and also in the debut test. Nehra played a debut Test match against Sri Lanka in Colombo in 1999. Nehra said, 'I had a pair of shoes that I wore in the Ranji Trophy and that was the one I took for my first Test match in 1999. I remember that I sewed shoes after every innings. Both these players are from Delhi and during this conversation both remembered the match played for their club team at the Race Course Ground in Delhi.'

Akash said, 'We had to bowl with the wind and against the wind? The coach told me why I did not make you bowl from that end, then I said that you wanted you to bowl from that end.' Nehra has played 17 Test matches for India. He has also played 120 ODIs and 27 T20 Internationals for India.
