Bangladesh vs. Afghanistan is the Asia Cup matchup that gets little attention. It follows closely after the weekend match between India and Pakistan. For this one, too, there are undeniable favourites as well as underdogs. The recent T20I results for Bangladesh have substantially declined. After dropping a T20I series earlier this month in Ireland, Afghanistan played well against Sri Lanka in their opening Asia Cup game. In terms of the number of balls left, it was also their second-largest victory.

Shakib Al Hasan is Bangladesh's captain at the 2022 Asia Cup. Mohammad Naim, Afif Hossain, Mahmudullah, and Mushfiqur Rahim are a few of the team's top batters. Ebadot Hossain, Mustafizur, and Nusum Ahmed are a few of the team's important bowlers.

Mohammad Nabi is Afghanistan's captain at the 2022 Asia Cup. Hazratullah Zazai had 37 hits for Afghanistan, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz had 40 runs scored for them in the previous game. In the game, Fazalhaq Farooqi took three of the team's most valuable wickets.

BAN Squad: Shakib Al Hasan (C), Sabbir Rahman, Mohammad Naim, Afif Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Mahmudullah, Mahedi Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Anamul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Parvez Hossain Emon, Mustafizur Rahman, Nasum Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, Taskin Ahmed.

AFG Squad: Mohammad Nabi (C), Najibullah Zadran, Afsar Zazai, Azmatullah Omarzai, Farid Ahmad Malik, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Hazratullah Zazai, Ibrahim Zadran, Karim Janat, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Najibullah Zadran, Naveen ul Haq, Noor Ahmad, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rashid Khan, Samiullah Shinwari.

In the first match of Asia Cup 2022, after Mohammad Nabi put Sri Lanka in to bat, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen-ul-Haq utilised the new ball to its fullest potential. In the second over alone, they were down to 5 for 3. Before Sri Lanka again fell apart, Afghanistan only allowed a brief show of resistance.

The task was then finished by Afghanistan's destructive opening duo, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Hazratullah Zazai. Between them, they hit 13 boundaries, including four sixes in Gurbaz's 18-ball 40. Despite losing a few wickets, Afghanistan showed off their offensive prowess. They are also more comfortable with the surroundings because they have participated in many short-format matches in the UAE.
