Assam Announces 10,000+ Job Openings in the Education Sector: In a significant move, the Assam government has announced a massive wave of job opportunities within the education department, totaling over 10,000 posts. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed confidence in surpassing their commitment to generating more than 100,000 government jobs, marking a monumental milestone in Assam's history.

Before the 2021 state Assembly elections, the ruling BJP party pledged to create over 100,000 government jobs upon returning to power for the second term. With the recent notification, the state government, led by Sarma, is progressing towards fulfilling this promise.

Education Minister Ranoj Pegu highlighted the specifics of the recruitment drive, stating that the Directorate of Secondary Education has advertised openings for 1424 Post Graduate Teachers and 7249 Graduate Teachers in various disciplines such as Arts, Science, Hindi, and Sanskrit in Provincialized Secondary Schools. Additionally, the Directorate of Elementary Education has released advertisements for hiring 3800 Assistant Teachers in LP Schools and 1750 Assistant Teachers, Science Teachers, and Hindi Teachers in UP Schools.

Senior Minister Pijush Hazarika also acknowledged this initiative, hailing it as positive news for the teaching community. He affirmed the government's commitment to conducting a fair and transparent recruitment process, echoing the assurance that the ambitious vision of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will soon become a reality.
