The Zorai replicas were demolished during the ongoing construction on the national highway. Zorai is highly respected in Assam. The demolition has therefore been greeted with much criticism and anger on social media and other platforms. The government promised to re-establish them with proper ceremony.

However, Assam Water Resources Minister Piyush Hazarika immediately reached the spot to control the situation. He explained, "It is painful to see that replicas of a traditional and respected Zorai have been demolished and left on the side of the road. I have spoken to both the authority and the local people and it has been agreed that we will give them one. Will reinstall at different location. Site with proper functioning."

On the other hand, the people of Harangajao are facing problems due to the dilapidated condition of the Myankro to Harangajao road. According to Bura Madan Langthasa, east of Miyangkro village, Lakshmi Motors has been engaged by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the work from Jatinga to Harangajao. However, the company has failed to provide them with good roads. Also, sometimes they throw garbage on the road for several days, causing huge inconvenience and traffic.
