NSCN-R condemned the raid by security forces on the residence of its Finance Minister Khekato. NSCN-R said if there are any discrepancies, the matter should be reported to the CFSB office to facilitate the issue where it was mutually agreed. The group's security forces attitude is double standards. In this regard, appealed for immediate intervention by the Competent Authority to stop such aggressive and provocative action which may endanger the hard earned peace. The MIP said that the raids were carried out around 2 pm, causing a lot of chaos, nuisance and fear psychosis in and around the area apart from a lot of harassment and mental agony on the family members including children.

The group said the misadventures of the Assam Rifles (AR)/Security Forces (SF) should be stopped immediately and the silence of the NSCN-R should not be taken as weakness. The houses of NSCN-R leaders where some cadres live cannot be treated as illegal mess or barracks. However, NSCN-R sources admitted to handing back seven cadres to the security forces without any loss.
