Assam Rifles have nabbed three cadres belonging to the United Liberation Front of Asom in the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.

According to report, During an operation, Assam Rifles personnel have apprehended three cadres belonging to the United Liberation Front of Asom – Independent (ULFA-I) at Naglu in Tirap district. The ) cadres have been identified as Milan Baruah alias Nijan Asom, self-styled ‘Major’ Jintu Asom alias Bikeswar Asom and Gaurab Asom alias Rajib Gogoi. The cadres were nabbed while they were crossing the India-Myanmar border and entered Arunachal Pradesh. According to the source, security force personnel recovered three .32 pistols and several rounds of ammunition from the possession of the ULFA(I) cadres. The ULFA(I) cadres are residents of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts.

Earlier, in June 15 last year 2020, In a joint operation by Tirap police and 6 Assam Rifles, three hardcore cadres of United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent (ULFA-I) were nabbed on Sunday in Tirap district of eastern Arunachal Pradesh. The operation has been named as ‘Operation Iron Bridge’ by 6 Assam Rifles. The apprehended cadres were identified as the self-styled Sergeant Major Rajesh Lahon @ Raj Axom, Sergent Suraj Dahotiya @ Bajra Axom and Corporal Raju Moran @ Gombhir Axom. In the operation, the Assam Rifles team recovered two .32 pistols, three magazines, thirty nine live rounds, and three ULFA badges.
