In a press release, the Serchhip Battalion of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the auspices of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), held an awareness lecture on the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, as well as health care schemes of the Mizoram government, at Vaphai in Champhai district on Saturday.
The purpose of the lecture was to increase awareness of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, which was established by the Government of India in September 2018 as part of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, as well as numerous health programmes announced by the State Government from time to time. The villagers were given detailed information on the Jan Arogya plan, which gives a cover of Rs 5 lakhs per family per year for medical treatment at empanelled public and private hospitals that provide cashless treatment. The offline and online methods, as well as the documentation necessary to apply for the plan, were also explained.
The local government gave a vote of appreciation at the end of the event, expressing gratitude for the Assam Rifles' good gesture in reaching out to them and expressing the hope that this effort would go a long way in further strengthening the link between the people of Mizoram and the Assam Rifles.
