Guwahati: Assam Rifles has found one AK-47, two CMGs, two 0.32mm pistols, two 0.22mm pistols, alerted magazines, thirty-six rounds and explosives from Tamongbang village under Imphal district of Manipur. Assam Rifles has informed in this regard through a tweet. Earlier, security forces arrested a cadre of KNA (SoO Group) from Moreh Town and in a separate operation, a 9mm pistol, two Chinese hand grenades and assorted ammunition were recovered near BP-76 in Moreh district of Manipur.

A few days ago, a mob of locals, enraged by the shooting of a Assam Rifles jawan in a village in Kangpokpi district of Manipur, set fire to two Assam Rifles vehicles and damaged a paramilitary (Paramilitary Forces) camp. A mob of people has set two assam rifles vehicles on fire, videos of which went viral on social media.

Local residents said the incident took place in Chalwa village, about 50 kilometres west of Kangpokpi district headquarters. The man who was shot dead was identified as Mangbolal Lahuvam, a 29-year-old daily wage labourer from Chalwa village (Chalwa Village) in the district. Locals said he was seriously injured and later died.
