Two Royal Bengal cubs were welcomed to the Assam State Zoo-Botanical Garden. Kazi, a 7-year-old tigress, gave birth to two pups on Saturday, raising the zoo's total number of tigers to nine.

The forest minister, Parimal Suklabaidya, was specifically instructed to come up with names for the cubs. The official stated that due to the dip in temperature in the region, all necessary precautions were taken to protect them. To keep the animals warm, he said heaters had been placed outside the cage and dry straw had been placed inside. In addition, the mother's nutrition is prioritised, and she receives around six to seven meals each day, as recommended by the veterinarian.

According to the official, a greater focus is being made on hygiene and cleanliness in their environment so that illnesses do not spread. "The mother and the cubs are both in good health. Because the mercury level in the state has been dropping for the past several days, the zoo administration has taken all necessary precautions to protect them from the cold. Heaters have been installed outside the cage, and enough dry straw has been placed inside to keep the cubs warm during this cold spell "Amit Sahai, the major chief forest (wildlife) conservator, said as much.

The gender has yet to be determined, according to Sahai. "Around 6-7 kg of meat is being provided to the mother, along with another vet-prescribed diet," Sahai added.
