Lucknow: The anticipatory bail application of Ali Ahmed, son of Bahubali former MP Atiq Ahmed, has been rejected by a sessions court in a controversial case of demanding Rs 5 crore. The order was passed by Additional Sessions Judge Sanjay Kumar Shukla after hearing the arguments of Assistant District Government Pleader Akhilesh Singh Bisen and the defence counsel.

The court said that the earlier criminal history of the accused was stated by the prosecution. The anticipatory bail application of the other accused in the case has been rejected. In view of the gravity of the offence in the facts and circumstances of the case, there does not appear to be any ground for accepting the anticipatory bail application of the accused. The counsel for the accused had argued that Ali had passed the high school and inter examinations in the first division from a reputed school in the city. At present, is a first-year LLB student. The accused's father is an MP and his uncle is an MLA. The plaintiff's suit belongs to the opposition party, so the case has been registered due to electoral malpractices.

On December 31, 2021, Zeeshan had lodged a report at Police Station Kareli that he was sitting in the house with his family. During this time, three people who came in cars surrounded him. Atiq Ahmed's son Ali, Arif, Sanjay, Imran and many others were present in the car. Ali put a gun on the wrist and said talk to Abba. He asked for five crore rupees for refusing. Threatening to kill him, Ali asked the victim to write the land in his wife's name. All the people were beaten up for refusing. He also fired from the pistol, after which Zeeshan somehow escaped and saved his life.
