Kolkata: Dilip Ghosh, president of the West Bengal BJP unit, was allegedly attacked in Lake Town on Friday morning when he was going for a daily morning walk and tea discussion. At the same time, in the presence of Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters, the mob attacked them.

Dilip Ghosh accused TMC supporters of the incident and said two BJP workers along with him were injured in the attack. Dilip Ghosh has been attacked several times in the past. In May this year, when he was accompanying senior BJP leader Hemant Biswa Sarma, his convoy was attacked in Khejuri. Though he did not suffer any damage, two vehicles were damaged.

The CRPF had reached the spot after the incident was reported, but the BJP had alleged that TMC workers jammed the road and did not allowed the CRPF to reach the spot.  Similarly, in December last year, Dilip Ghosh's car was attacked by unidentified miscreants in Sitalkuchi area of Coochbehar district.  Ghosh had arrived in Coochbehar to participate in the BJP's 'Rath Yatra', which took place at the same time.
