New Delhi: Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that 55 to 60 percent of the domestic flights operating before the Corona crisis will start operating till Deepawali. Hardeep Puri has given this information in a press conference and said that under the mission 'Vande Bharat', two lakh 80 thousand people have been brought to India from other countries. He said that a large number of Indians have returned from Dubai and UAE. While about 30 thousand people have been brought back from America.
Hardeep Puri told that under the Vande Bharat Mission, Air France airline will operate 28 flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru to Paris between 18 July and 1 August. Whereas 18 flights of American Airlines will come to India between 17 to 31 July. He said that apart from this, talks are also going on with Germany. Hardeep Singh Puri said that the privatization of Air India is necessary, and the government is working in this direction. The minister said on 'Leave Without Pay' that all airlines are sending their employees on leave because has become a necessity. The government is not in that condition to give huge financial help to the airline companies.
Rajiv Bansal, CMD of Air India said that due to the Corona crisis, airlines are suffering a lot. Several steps are being taken to reduce expenses, one of which is a reduction in the number of employees. He said that the company is also considering the post-retirement of some of its employees.
