AYODHYA: Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, was taken to the hospital on Sunday (February 2)  after his health suddenly worsened. Reports say he was admitted to hospital in critical condition, struggling with breathing problems.

Initially, Das was admitted to Shri Ram Hospital, but due to his severe condition, he was again shifted to the Trauma Centre. Later, he was referred to PGI in Lucknow for advanced treatment.

Dr. Arun Kumar Singh from the Neuro Centre in Ayodhya confirmed that Das had suffered a brain hemorrhage, which had spread to multiple areas of his brain. Doctors referred him to Lucknow PGI for more specialized care.

The Ram temple administration and the devotees of Acharya Satyendra Das are deeply concerned for his well-being, praying for his quick recovery at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex.

As per reports, currently, Das’s condition is stable, and he is being closely monitored by doctors.

Acharya Satyendra Das, 84, was appointed as the chief priest when the Ram temple construction began. He has been dedicated to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple and its worship activities for many years.

He was also hospitalized in October 2024 for neurological issues, but his condition remained stable. As of now, he is being treated at SGPGI in Lucknow, under the care of Dr. Prakash Chandra Pandey.

Acharya Das has lived in Ayodhya since childhood and has been closely associated with the Ram Lalla temple for over 30 years. He began his service there long before the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992.

Meanwhile, the Ram Mandir is expected to be completed by Sept 2025, a 3-month delay from the actual June 2025 completion date.
