Following the consecration ceremony held on January 22, the Ram temple has seen an overwhelming response from devotees, with donations pouring in. The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has reported over Rs 11 crore in donations since the temple opened its doors to worshippers. Within a span of 11 days, approximately 2.5 million devotees have visited the sacred site.

Prakash Gupta, the office in-charge of the temple trust, revealed that the daily footfall of devotees has exceeded 200,000, all seeking a glimpse of Ram Lalla. Donation boxes placed strategically along the path to the sanctum sanctorum have collected around Rs 8 crore in cash contributions over the past 10 days, while online donations have amounted to approximately Rs 3.50 crore.

To manage the influx of donations, a team of 14 individuals, comprising 11 bank employees and three temple trust members, meticulously counts the offerings from four large donation boxes. Gupta assured that every step, from depositing to counting the donations, is closely monitored under the surveillance of CCTV cameras.

Tax Benefits for Donors to the Ram Mandir Trust

Contributors to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Trust, formally known as the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, are eligible for income tax deductions under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Section 80G allows individuals and organizations to claim tax deductions on donations made to qualifying charitable institutions and funds.

Donations to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust can be made through various channels such as cheques, UPI, and Internet Banking. Those wishing to contribute online can visit the official website at https://srjbtkshetra.org/, navigate to the 'Donation' tab, and click on 'Donate'. After logging in with their mobile number and authenticating with the OTP received, donors can select their preferred bank account (SBI, PNB, or BoB) for the donation.

To avail the deduction under Section 80G, donors must retain the donation receipt.
